AI vs. Scosche kit

That's a very good idea Jewls. I like the fact that the AI kit has the HU at the bottom because I don't want my dvd sys screen to block the vents. Good luck and keep us posted.

Sorry dude, totally forgot about this. I have been SOOOO busy lately, I might end up just getting the silver kit online. I have to wait for the bf to get home because I can take it apart, but cannot put it back together if I paint this one.

Best kits just came out with one that is two single din opening. they
are much better than AI. Im planning to get this one and spray it silver to match the interior or take the scoshe one and chop it up to make my own.
Alpine + Dynaudio = Sonic bliss.

i bleive the interior plastic has a color code as well, what you can do is get a can of paint match from a paint shop to match it up OR go do the whole dash!!!
need wheels? www.memoryfab.com - ask for david

Color matching

Postby solararob » Mon Feb 14, 2005 6:00 pm

Looking forward to hearing how the paint job goes. I think I like the black kit from Best Kit because of the reason an earlier poster said. I plan on getting the DVD w/ screen and if it is too high, it'll block the vents.

Does the black kit at least match the black dash?

I wonder if a single din sized center channel speaker would fit in the empty slot above?

:)

The black matches pretty well, it is just a different type of plastic/material. There are pictures of mine on a few threads here as well as the website I bought it from.

just an idea (i dont have gen2):
instead of worrying about matching the replacement piece with oem a/c housing piece thing... just paint the both of them with whatever color you think looks the cleanest. you will never get the same exact look just by painting the new piece.
but like i said, thats what i would probably do. but i dont have one

Jewls,

Ever get a chance to try the color matching on your AI kit?
