The G6 got terrible reviews on MotorWeek, or was it Car and Driver tv? Anyway, underpowered and a know-nothing consumer pleaser, for the first, I'll say two years. THEN no resale.

I had to drive a Pontiac when I was getting some repair work done on the Solara. I think it was a Grand Am with the "powerful" V6. Lemme tell you, that was like driving a truck. The road noise was awful, interior design was insulting, material quality was a joke, and the grinding/rubbing/gurgling, whatever that is that passes for engine noise, was the worst. I'm glad my IBS wasn't acting up on those days or I would have been crapping every time I turned the key. Just awful car. And the friggin park bench on the trunk was a total embarassment. What the hell is that thing about?

Anywho, I am not anti-American, just a pro-Japanese car buyer. I don't like German or British or other manufacturers, since they have their own quality issues. MB JUST this year put a rack and pinion in the SLK! I mean really, 30 years later they are just doing this?! That's insane. And no German car except the Passat and Boxster got a Consumer Reports recommendation. And practically every Japanese car gets one. Okay, the Solara was designed and built in the US, but it is a good car, these little issues aside.

IMO.

Woah- I guess I forgot to specify the picture of the coupe is in the brochure that I got from Pontiac. Its a top down shot showing what the coupe is going to look like when it is released later this summer. From the pic in the book, it looks similar to the Solara.

Sorry to upset soo many people- Ive just had more problems with my Solara than my Pontiac, which has been in the shop 1 time, compared to the 10 times the Solara has been in for work...
