Anyone know where I can get my springs installed in the Northern Virginia area? Any referrals would be great! Thanks.

Our man Carlos Jr. at Arrieta Motorsport can do the install properly for you. He's the one who built my 13 second motor and has done work for a few other friends here in this forum.

Call him at 301-856-2886. They're located minutes from Andrew Air Force Base in Southern Maryland.

I hope you bought struts too. You don't want to lower your car without upgrading your struts. Aftermarket lowering springs with stock struts is like spaghetti and milk. They don't work well together.

R-TicFrost, if you decide to go there (or anywhere else) let me know how things workout. I am also looking for a good performance upgrade shop.

Hopefully he doesnt have a Gen2 (although he did post in the Gen2 section...) since they dont make AM struts for our cars... :(

r-ticfrost does have a Gen 2. I'm disappointed that TRD didn't stamp their name on aftermarket struts. :(

I've been on this forum and had my Gen2 since 9/03 :D I just rarely post anything.

Unfortunately, I'm aware that there are no AM struts for the Gen2. I'm still waiting for the Tein's to be released. IMO, and as Shidosha has stated, changing your struts, or even going a full coilover is the best way to go. I'm just speaking from experience...I've done it to my last 3 cars. Personally, I think the TRD springs would do fine with the stock SE Sport struts, and work in the interim.

Michael- this is Tim, we've exchanged a few e-mails before...
cronikles- I'll tell you how it goes... they are getting installed today..
Shidosha- meeting at 7AM for MIR!!!!! are you crazy?!?!?! hahaha

I noticed that TRD includes replacement compression bumpers that are shorter than stock. (This is the rubber bumper that goes on the strut rods.)

So long as you use the new bumpers, you should be fine with the OE struts. If bumpers were not included because they were missing or you purchased non-TRD springs that dont provide them, then simply trim the OE bumper the same amount the springs are lowered.

There are huge benefits to aftermarket struts though. Adjustable valving, correct stroke if designed for a lowered vehicle, etc...

Considering how slow the aftermarket is about releasing parts for the Gen2, I wouldn't wait on the springs.
