room in the rear deck?

I am wondering if anyone has taken their rear deck apart to put in new speakers? If so how much room is there between the plastic deck and the actual metal?

You have to buy VERY shallow speakers. Mine are barely not hitting that metal bar. I got Pioneers, forgot which model. I will try to look for the numbers. Oh, and you have to cut out the stock speakers and reuse the brackets. There are 2-3 threads on this already. Try the search option.

There is about 1" of room i believe.
But if you get aftermarket speakers remember to make MDF brackets for them, cause the stock ones will suck like no other.

i put in infiniti 100watt 3way component 6x9s in doors and rear. huge improvement from stock. could possibly put a slightly large magnet in the rear, but the front theres no chance. trying to remember who it was, but they had to down grade the speakers they bought for the front because of this.

still havent found a replacements for those ones in front... they're like 3" and the smallest speaker i've found is a 3.5 or 4 inch, had them open it up and try to see if they could squeeze anything in there even with cutting and you're kinda stuck with stock unless u wanna change to tweeters.
