I don't know if this only happens with my car, but everytime I floor the gas from a dead stop, the wheel spins for a while and then grips the road. It's even worse on uphill when I try to accelerate hard from a stop. Has anyone noticed this? Could this be fixed with better tires?

Well, I would floor the gas from a dead stop for fun mostly... Like to beat the car on the other lane on a stop light ;-)

But sometimes I have to floor the gas to merge the traffic... Unfortunately, there is one stupid area on my commute where I have to stop and yield to merge the traffic, and they are usually going 50+ MPH...

im not sure but i think that happens because the car is light? i have a 99 and when i first bought it the same thing happened once. i just stopped... i step on the gas slowly for a couple seconds before i floor it (only entering highway)

1. the car is not light , or even close to that
2.V6 for sure idk about 4cyl will spin the tires cuz yer sendin so much power all at one time, if u wanan accel but not spin dont floor it till like 10-15 mph

Is spinning common in most fast cars? Will it still spin even if I get better tires? Before my 2004 Solara, I was driving a weak 1990 Civic, so this is new to me.

Performance tires will greatly decrease if not eliminate your wheel spin. I would recommend not flooring it and your tires will grip just fine. If you keep spinning your tires, you'll end up like me with two almost bald tires up front and two brand new ones in the the rear.

My SLEV6 G2 spins if I gun it (after the hesitation) depending on the surface. Cold smooth blacktop is a constant. Wait 'til summer and it'll happen less. I gotta go with Parke10. I get a fine push with no hesitation when I feather it in for the first 10 mph then floor it. And hey... rotate those tires!

tires spin when car is taking off..
that's mean engine out put is TOO BIG for the tires at that moment...
change the tires could slightly improve but not significantly..
if u want significantly improve, then u need to put some tires with not grip on it...
which is very danger..
just don't hit ur gas that hard, it waste ur gas and make pollution...

im all too acquainted with this problem

i promise if you hit the gas in a linear motion instead of all at once then you should be fine. and i think thats kind of wild if you feel that you must floor it.
