plastic tick noises coming from rear headliner when sunroof

I have this plastic ticking sounds coming from the rear headliner/ package shelf area only when the sunroof is open. If I close it halfway or in between I still hear the noise. Any idea what might be causing it. If the sunroof is closed, I don't hear the noise.

Long shot... but I had that sound bugging me with the ragtop down. Sounded like it was coming from the sun visor area. But the sounds can be funky and mine turned out (Doh!) to be the key chain banging on the dash in the wind. You might have a real noise but it's worth checkin'

Plastic tick noise

Postby jig47 » Tue Feb 15, 2005 6:00 pm

I complained about this issue amongst others and was able to convince the tech to stop flirting with the service manager's secretary for 5 minutes and take a look at my headliner. He claims to have put some foam in the back (I can feel it under the headliner) and so far the noise appears to be gone. I am keeping my fingers crossed. 1 down, 4 to go.
