burnout on gen2

is it possible to get this thing to burn out.. the throttle lags messes it up..anyone tried it?

I've spun the tires for a good 5 secs. while moving forward. This was due to having cold tires with no traction and putting it in manual mode. You can hold the gear in manual mode and provide a longer "burnout". You'll be best to try one when the tires are cold. If you warm up the tires, you gain more traction, which is not what you want if you want to spin your tires. You could also put a set of bald tires and put some water and bleach on the ground and just smoke em up. :lol:

Bleach and water will cause the white smoke. Another thing you could do is "heavy brake" which is putting your left foot on the brake and reving the gas up to about 2-2.5K rpms and simply releasing the brake while flooring the gas. What this does is builds up momentum and it just launches you. The tires will have no chance to grip. I wouldn't recommend doing this all the time since it puts lots of stress on many vital components of the driveshaft including your braking system. I also wouldn't recomend smoking your tires on a daily basis since this also cuts the life of your tires dramactically.

was there any smoke though? i tried one again earlier.. tires were prolly hot..i drove 20 miles home from skoo .. i did with ebrake up and it was moving front a lil and making that tire noise.. held it for like 2 secs....

well just tried again with a friend thats knows more about it and he said theres a chip on it... wont let it over about 2500rpm with the break and when u do it with the ebrake up...sure it streaks and does light smoke but the car moves..does not stay in one place...damn toyota...

Do you really want to fry the tires off your car? Try gunning the gas pedal while pushing the brake pedal all the way down at the same time

You cannot possibly accomplish this in a front wheel drive. The reason you can in a rear drive car is because the rear wheels have much smaller brakes, when you apply the brake, the rear wheels can spin, yet the beefier brakes in the front keep the car in place. We have front wheel drive, which is also where the beefier brakes hold the car in place. So for example: I am driving a rear wheel drive Mustang for instance. I can actually place my foot on the brake and begin to slowly spin the rear tires. If it starts lurching forward, I simply apply the ebrake and hold the car in place. Ergo, burnout. We simply cannot do it standing still. The only way I see, which I wouldn't recommend BTW, is having a whole bunch of friends stand around the car and hold it in, while you burnout. :lol:

check out the burnout video in the pictures and video section. Its a 1.5 but they say its stock. He has the car "twisted" but boy does that sucker smoke....

ive seen it..many times..i need to find a place like that first to be able to try it like that...lol

dvdchris- no, its not a rear wheel drive.
Arthur- NOT true. Before i got my new tires last year (in the summer on dry pavement) i had some fun. Flat parking lot, just pull the ebrake, slap the stick down to 1st gear in tiptronic mode and gas it. I couldve sat there as long as i wanted smokin the sh*t outta my tires.
In conclusion, it's 100% possible.
