Postby PatPat » Thu Jan 20, 2005 6:33 pm

i ve asked around more but there is definitely no decah VDC kit for the Solara 2004. They told me that there was no room and that the kit would puncuture the tires. They said it has been done but with heavy modifications. I have 2 g's saved up hopefully that is enough?? :(

I doubt the camry one would work. The solara's doors are MUCH bigger.

That's the funnies shoot I've ever heard, but hey, you've never seen them and so I don't blame you for making that accussation.

^^^Thanks bro!^^^

Take a look at this pic at the toyota/scion meet on Aug. 22nd, 2004 and tell me if it's photochopped or not...lolz.

Sto's site
Sto, I've said this before and I'll say it again...this is by far one of the best pic that I have of my ride and it's all thanks to you bro! Mad props!!! We defly need to do this again this year.

My best recommendations for you guys out there that are wanting this done is to take it to a shop that has done more than 5 custom lambo kits.

I'm not referring to the bolt on kits that they make for hondas and other cars...those, I can put on myself with a buddy's help. I'm referring to custom as that the kit is not made for the car and extensive modifications would have to be done in order to have a setup that you are going to be happy with.

Be sure you get photos of their custom lambo doors prior selecting that particular bodyshop. All good custom bodyshop will document their work to show to their customers.

Anyone can tell you verbally that they've done plenty of lambo conversions, but without pics to document their work, it's not worth a dime.

I hope you guys take heed to my advise.

Something else, I wanted to take my kit and mass produce a bolt on kit for our cars, but without financial support from various companies. It's really tough for me to throw down an X amount of cheese into something that I may not recover in the long run.

I'm just like the rest of you guys, we all want the custom work; but are we willing to take the risk? You really need to ask yourself that!

The Final Verdict

Postby PatPat » Mon Jan 24, 2005 8:35 am

The Final Verdict. After months of researching and dreaming i've come to realize, its impossible to get the all mighty "Lambo Doors" .It feels like my dream was shot with a twelve gauge like Bambi. First off, there is no specific kit for the solara. Number Two, even if u were able to fit a kit onto the solara, the doors are so heavy they would just rip off the metal of the car. If u notice on the solara, there are three hinges on it. Is it safe to have one vertical hinge holding the whole door? Number Three, its a pain in the butt. Everyday use of lambo doors? To get into the car u would have to duck and roll into ur car everyday, and those doors are heavy to lift. I imagined trying to lift them. There is really no place to grab, except the little gap in the armrest. How could someone lift them? I dont think lambos are meant for everday use. They are usually meant just for show. Micheal T's Solara is a show car. We use ours in our everyday lives. The Pros and Cons are just no contest. Pro, WoooOOT 1337 vertical doors that go up. I could just sit there all day playing with my lambo doors. YAY! Up, down, up, down, (woop)(wuup)(woop)wuup)(CRASH)! ohh nooo it fell off and only paid like 2 grand plus.WEEEeEeeEe! All in all Mike T's the only one with lambo doors b/c of magic. And he's cool. Mike T is the man!

I think if you talk to Mike T, you'll find out that those doors are indeed very easy to use and very practical. He claims they make the car actually easier to get into and out of in tight parking spaces than the normal doors!

^^^Defly^^^I'm sure you guys would enjoy a video clip of me actually opening and closing and up and down and up and down and up and down...lmao. Would this be something you guys would like to see? LOLZ :drinking: :drinking:

Just so you know, I do not have to open it up to get in and out of the car and makes it very easy to get in and out of cramped areas which I never put my car into. For example: my garage, my gurl used to have a hard time getting in and out without hitting the garage wall. Well, after having the lambo doors, it's much easier. The reason for this is that it opens just enough for you the get in and out. It's an option to lift the doors up, it's not a necessity.

For those who have seen lambo doors in person, they can attest to this; unless of course you're using the GT kit, those kits can open to 90 degree angle.

My gurl was telling me bout that, but I don't watch much TV to see it.

I drove it around the parking lot when I first got them and we took lots of pics. The doors shake a bit, but nothing to worry about. I would not recommend speeding with them up, unless you want problems...lolz. Although, I have driven about 10-15 mph with only my doors up with no probs.

Otherwise, I've lifted my side up on many occasions to back into parking spaces to make sure I don't curb my wheels.

If I'm in a hurry or it's raining, I do not lift the doors up, I just open normal and get in an out with no probs.

Only time I open them is if I want to show off the car, which makes sense. 8)

Like I said...perhaps when I have time, I will make some vids for you guys to see.
