sorry guys this might not be the right place to post this but i wanted to ask a question. I currently drive a 2004 black SE sport. Its not really F*ed up any where bad but i do have a few deep scratches and dents. I have one on the drivers side door about a size of a penny, and its so deep that you can see the metal on the door and its starting to rust. My friend told me that i need to get that fixed asap or the rust will eat through my door. I also have a dent on the frame part. I dont know wut part of the car its called but its on the passenger side, the diagnal part where the winshield is, like the frame, i have a pretty bad dent there. Also scratched up my front lip and scrathes here and there.

sorry this is long but will i be able to go through insurance if i repaint my car and get my dents and scrathes fixed? Or does insurance only cover if i get into an accident. I was thinking if i paid my deductable i can make my car look brand new again. I have full coverage. Any kind of information will help. thanks!

Premiums do go up and you'll have to pay your deductibles. Atleast that's what my insurance told me. Give your insurance a call and see what they say. :)

You can go through your insurance company for a re-paint. You will have to pay your deductible and your premium will go up, unless it was vandalized by someone else. Some insurance companies are different, but for the most part, this is the standard rule. I would consider myself somewhat knowledgable as I am an Auto Claims Estimator for a major insurance company.

I have Mercury insurance and i wonder if they will cover it. None of the scratches and dents were from me. The dent on the passenger frame was from something flying up on the freeway. And the others i just noticed them one day. Since i have a black car scratches are real noticeable and i hate it :x .

Would you guys know approximately how much my premium will go up? and also do you think its a good idea to go through with this?

I just had my car in the body shop due to me scraping the side up hitting something, and my premium will be increasing by $80 next year. My claim was small enough that the ins. comapny had to pay out less than a grand. That is the key, if they pay out and it os over $1k, then you get even more of an increase in premiums. I will tell you, I also have a black SE, and when I got my baby back, she was SWIRL MARK CITY where they had done the work, so I had to go out with Mguires swirl remover a few days later to fix it, but now she will never be the same. My driver side is now flawless, but passenger side is not. There are a lot of things to consider in your case. Also, it sounds like your dent is in your A pillar, which can total a car in some cases, so be sure to inquire about that. Good luck!
