First thing to go on the Gen 2! :(

So weird... the auto down function worked once, last night. not this morning.. so weird!!! maybe it's a loose wire or something. i didnt know there was an auto up! that is awesome :) Yeah i think im going to wait until the scheduled maintenance. the dealerships are not close, so it's annoying to go. im definitely glad it's something minor.. im still at that stage where i park in the middle of Timbucktoo whenever i go somewhere, lol. today i was really ticked cuzz i got a great parking space in the parking garage at work (i usually dont drive in, because the traffic and commute is so insane and expensive, etc, usually i take a train :/ ), i got a space on the end so that no one was on my right, and MOST people drive in by themselves so they dont open the passenger side door... yeah im so smart.. lol.. and some jerko came flying around the corner, going the WRONG way, almost hit my back.. i was sooo ticked. i almost said something to him but i didnt. Anyway I digress... :)

rubbing noise... hum... i dont' have problem with that~ cause i always turn my music very loud~ ^^
anwayy, i think sunroof rubbing noise is normal, at least, it's happening to my old accord too, and nothing major bad happened to my sunroof.
so, i guess, dealer won't really do anything to ur sunroof.

i know the window controlled by remote control is possible to be done by aftermarket parts, i had that on my old accord...
but.. errrrrr.. i really dont' trust aftermarket parts anymore,
it mess up my old accord completely...

The remote windows also come standard on most Nissan's. Bf's Titan has that, we love it!

All these posts for the auto up down features on the windows... which I don't like anyway. You try to open the window a little and the feature takes over and it goes all the way down.

How can I disable this feature?

There are two ways to roll down the window.
Push or pull the button all the way and you get the Auto option.
Tap the button in the dessired dirrection and you go as much as you want manually.

You don't know your own strenght!!

Auto roll-up was traditionally disabled in prior US models due to perceived potential for litigation claims... do ANY current Toyotas offer this ??

Ok... Auto function is NOT broken... my brilliant self was not pushing hard enough on it. Took it to a toyota dealership on saturday morning and told the guy it wasn't working. he pushed it once, sure enough, it rolled down by itself. i felt about two inches tall  good thing there was something else i needed checked out (vibration from the rear end when going over bumps... plastic tray thingie was loose, it is now 100% better) because i wouldve wasted a trip and looked even more stupid. oh well, at least it's not broken!

My car, 2004 SLE, does NOT have auto roll-up. Are you all sure you have auto roll-up? I like auto roll-down, and miss auto roll-up.

My SLE has it and was built 8/2003. It is tricky to get it to work, but it does work. You have to pull up & hold it for a second.

Yes, the window has Auto roll-down as well as roll-up. The assistant manager at the dealership showed me both.

I just checked my owners manual and it shows the convertible as only having auto down. There are no instructions for auto up.

The coupe has both.
When in doubt gas it out, brakes just slow you down.

The '04 manual that came with my ragtop shows the auto-up and notes that it doesn't
apply to the ragtop. Guess there's a design issue with the anti-stupid-kid-noggin-crushing
safety feature. That's the first "Aw shucks" I had when I picked her up. I speced out the
coupes since ragtops didn't exist yet. So I was expecting that feature.

I know it's something minor but it burns me up to know that I paid so much and this feature isn't working. I'm contemplating whether to bring it in for service now or to just wait until the scheduled maintenace. I don't even want to tell anyone because then they will think the car isn't good quality. Augh!

Anyone else have this problem? :-?

Mine came with a bent pin in the harness for the driver visor so the g-opener had
no power. So I feel ya. Just a little quality control issue. They were built in Kentucky...
