Spare Tire

Spare Tire: I got my tire slashed by a pot hole. Had to change out the tire to the spare. About how long can the spare be on there?

id get it fixed as soon as possible if you have the donut spare.

The spare tire shouldnt be driven on at hwy speeds ( remeber reading this in my accord manual) and why risk running down the spare? Get the tire replaced and put that spare back in the trunk so you can use it again no sence having to buy 2 tires in the event that you ran down the spare.

That and it looks horrible its got no rim and its smaller ewwwwwww.

is the tire a donut or a full?

if full- then you can drive normal.

if donut- make sure you inflate to what the recommended psi is and do not go over 55mph.

also with a donut you aren't supposed to drive more than 50miles

I'm pretty sure you should have a full size spare in which case you'll be fine

If you have the spare on the front either replace it asap or move it to the rear. You should never run a psuedo spare (donut) on the front with front wheel drive...

i dunno....i ran mine from kennebunk maine to boston mass...actually further south than boston....avg mph according to the car was 63...on the highway never went below 75.....not sayin its ok...but i did it and my doughnut is fine...
