XM Reciever for Convertible-where does it mount?

Postby mikei » Tue Dec 07, 2004 9:45 pm

I need some help. The part # for the XM Reciever for the Solara Convertible is PT546-06050 which is a different part #

from the coupe. It looks to me that the Xm reciever for the convertible because of the smaller trunk is supposed to go

under the back seat rather than mounting to the side of the trunk on the passenger side. Do any of you know where it mounts for the convertible

or had it factory installed. It does not look right on the side of the trunk were the dealer installed mine and even though I

have the installation instructions from the T.I.S. website for XM reciever (for convertible only) the dealer is trying to tell me it

goes on the passenger side of the trunk.

Any drop top owners with XM can help me out. Where is the reciever properly supposed to be installed?

Thanks Mike

I am not sure how different the droptop is from the coupe, but mine fit behind the stereo inside the dash, so I never have to see it. Another option is to put it behind the steering colum.
