A couple of questions....

A couple of questions....

Postby juice0127 » Tue Dec 07, 2004 8:07 am

Hi, Im new here and i have a couple questions about my car...sorry if they have been answered before, if they have just point me in the direction to where i can see the answers...

1. I have the 2004 SE with the standard audio system with a 12 in infinity sub . The plastic piece that covers the stock speakers rattles like crazy.. it did this even before i go the sub woffer...any one else have this problem? and how did you fix it?

2. Has anyone put the PIAA h11 headlight bulbs in yet? Are they worth buying? Do they look better then stock?

3. Yellow fogs... im lookin for the lexus is300 color...anyone know where i can get fog lights in that color? Are the Hoen bulbs that bright? or is there a better company?

4. whats the biggest size rim that can fit on the 2004 solara? Would 20's rub?

thanks

Hi and welcome to the site...

1. YES, I have the same REALLY annoying rattle (low-end resonance vibration) in my speaker grilles. I haven't had it fixed yet.

2. YES, PIAA makes H11 bulbs, they are an improvement over the OE (Sylvania) bulbs in the Solara, but they are relatively expensive. SEE: http://www.eautoworks.com/html/ORD-1-1-1-23935.cfm

3. The Hoen "All Weather" H10 yellow fog bulbs are just great and plenty bright. I love mine.
SEE: http://www.hoen-usa.com/weather.htm

4. Plenty of folks out there are running 20" wheels on their Gen 2 Solaras with no problems. I will let them give you more info on this.

There's no difference. Here's a photo of the box:

If you look in the lower right corner it says "Stage II" above "100 W". The bulbs are actually stamped "80 watts", but they actually draw just under 75 watts @ 13.0 volts according to my own test measurements.
