Is 5th gear on sport drive bad fuel efficiency?

I have a v6 Sle solara and was wondering if the fuel efficiency when I switch it to the 5th gear on the sport shifter, would it be the same as that on regular conditions.

I understand that for the other gears it will surely be lower.

I guess the fuel efficiency depends most on how you step on the gas pedal - I do not find any difference between S5 and D...
