Yikes! Sad to see such a nice car damaged. Were both sides of the car damaged? Sure sounds like since you said you were hit on one side making your car hit another car. Sounds like in the movies with cars sideswiping others. Hope you gave her a piece of your mind!

yea everyone was ok...however the car i was hit into the driver had some backpain so she was taken away in an ambulance

the girl was with 3 of her friends...if i get around to it ill post pictures of their car...theres like no damage at all to hers. she was lucky cause her one friend took off her seatbelt(their car has automatic seatbelts also) to put on a sweater just as the accident happened

ok so here they are.....

Man, that hurts. I sure hope her insurance pays for a new Solara for you. Once a car is seriously damaged, it's never the same even if it's fixed. Not to mention that its value drops like a rock.

On the bright side it seems you could still drop the top ...

That sucks  Glad to hear you're okay. Keep us updated on what the insurance companies say.

On a side note, state laws should be changed to raise the legal age of driving from 16 to 18 IMO. Not only do I see these young kids constantly having accidents, which in the end drive up insurance rates across the board, but it's dangerous when I'm on my motorcycle and I got some 16/17 year old punk all over my rear tire trying to get a look at me

Driving is a huge responsibility and so many seem to forget that it's a privilege and NOT a right. [/rant off]

WHAT A MESS! I'm sorry this had to happen to your nice new drop-top Solara, but I'm glad there were no serious injuries.

Unfortuntely, I doubt her insurance company will "total" your car and get you a new one. If they don't, stay on 'em. Don't even accept the car back until they get ALL the repairs right. This was basically a new car before the accident and you want it back the way it was before the accident.

If her insurance company gives you a hard time about anything, file a complaint with the proper state agency (this gets their attention REAL fast).
(Been there, done that).

like i always say, "they should have the death penalty for first time accident offenders". but seriously...16 year olds cant even wipe their ass properly yet and they let them drive??? i feel if an underage person gets into an accident thats determined to be their fault they should have their license suspended until 21. they cost drivers BILLIONS with a bee for increased insurance costs. by the way, thank god the demographic for the solara is an older age. it keeps insurance costs down for the rest of us solara drivers. glad to hear you re ok though. and nice to know the other victim of the accident is gonna soak your ins co for thousands for a bogus back injury.

What is with the Jeep's bungee and wood blocks?

Sorry to see your almost brand new Solara damaged. :(

I am 18 (19 next Monday), got my permit at 16 and waited until I turned 18 to get my license. Have never had an accident and have never had a ticket, yet my insurance costs thousands per year because of the idiots around my age. I fully agree people should not be allowed a license until 18. South Carolina allows a restricted license at 15 after 3-6 months of a permit. 15, 16, and 17 year olds are hardly mature enough to carry on a semi-intelligent conversation yet they're put behind the wheel of a car. 18 is not a magical age but it seems like once the high school scene is history, people grow up a bit. :x
