If you're installing it yourself, you'll have to also figure out where and how to install the GPS antenna. Do you have or are you getting a NAV install manual with it?

I don't think it comes with an install manual, only an operating manual. But I could be wrong. Is it a bad idea for me to try this install? (I'm not a mechanic.) I was thinking the GPS antenna should go on the dash or behind the rear view mirror. Where does the factory put it?

No idea but it isn't anywhere visible. I'm guessing under the dash somewhere. I'd try to get a NAV install manual if possible if I was you. Sounds like you'd have to take apart at least the whole center panel area.

You are correct, the GPS antenna is located under the dash.
This is a fairly complicated job. If the NAV system doesn't come with install instructions, I would probably let Toyota do the install.

Isn't the Toyota nav unit pretty much plug and play?

How much and where from did you get the nav unit? And what model is your '04? I have the Sport, and I'm considering a nav.

It's an 04 sle-v6 convertible. I ordered the unit from oemvalue.com. I was also hoping to hear from other's in this forum about their experience.
