I used to work for a body shop and that is a total loss. Milton's car was totaled out and his accident was not nearly as bad. Agh my car is the same color and it hurts for me to look at that. Good luck with a new ride

If it was up to me I'd call the insurance agent today and request a check...

Woah! So so sorry dude. It's usually up to the bodyshop, cus they didn't total out my 03 Altima and it had 8Gs worth of damages done. It's back to normal now...I guess.

Good luck...again, so so sorry.

Its up to the Insurance Adjuster, my friend... 8)

Ya ya...I forgot...since I had so little time to chat with the insurance adjuster that I had forgotten. He wouldn't total the car cus of it's value. Oh well, it's back to normal now...i think...

I got nothing but headaches out of that ordeal though. :-?

Talked to the mechanic today and he says, with regard to it being totaled, that it is "on the edge" and he's not sure yet. He went on to say that he already found parts he needs but is holding off ordering them till the insurance company gives him the go-ahead to start repairs. The insurance company is waiting on the police report which will be a day or two.

I'm assuming once the mechanic gets the go-ahead he will find out for sure whether it's totaled or not.

The insurance adjuster looked at it today. I haven't talked to him since. I'll call him tomorrow morning to touch base.

I just want this thing to be totaled out so I can go car shopping this weekend :)

The amount of miles on the car have a BIG influence on what the adjuster will determine, also if the car is worth lets say 10 Gs, and the damage is about around the same amount, most of the time it gets considered a loss.. I had this happen to me in Feb of this year, so goodluck...

Sorry to hear. To start off, I know he'll start off getting <10g's. So, you know it will be totaled. :( Damn, another (silver) Solara to the graveyard!! Good luck on a new ride!

Hi all,

Just an update. It is officially a total loss. The insurance agent is going to have a third party investigate what the car would have sold for the day before the wreck. Kelly blue book say's it's value is $14,900. Can I expect something close to that?

Here are some cars I'm going to look at this weekend. Let me know what you think.

Acura RSX Type-S
Audi A4
Honda Accord
Honda Prelude
Infinity G35 Sedan
Infinity G35 Coupe
Mazda 6 Sport Sedan
Mazda 6 5door
Mazda RX8 ..somewhat impractical for Michigan :)
Nissan Maxima
Nissan Altima
Saab 9-3
Toyota Camry Solara :P
Volkwagon Passot
Volvo S40
