I was wondering if those members with Eric's relocation kit could post their pics. Preferably from a close up angle like this Image (borrowed Erics picture) Also if you would, what size rim you're running on. Thank you!

Anyone?

Postby mmcdonald » Wed Sep 22, 2004 8:52 am

Doesn't anyone know how to install slotted rotors? (top of the slot meets the calipers first, not bottom of the slot)

Are your install instructions telling you to do it this way?

The Solara's rotors are labeled left and right, as are the calipers.

This is another post I believe you have asked that, out of curiosity, is there somewhere that says what you are stating??? I don't have slotted rotors, but would like to know why you say all these guys rotors are installed wrong?? Thanks...

I dunno by my are installed top slot hitting the calipar first. I was told it was installed wrong but im not sure... if its suppose to be that way then i dont need to fix it. I was going to change it bac were the botton hits first.

Any confirmation of this would be cool...

I am on my 3rd set of rotors. I have had one slotted set from EBC. They entered at the bottom first. The rotors were clearly labeled L & R, as are the calipers, so unless EBC did it wrong, the slotted rotors I had were designed to hit the pads at the bottom first..

rotor location can be either way DEPENDING on the company.

power slot has it so it slants /

where brembo for euro has it \

(this is how the slant goes when you are staring at the rotor)

so it all depends on the brand then...

im with tads... mine were clearly labeled left and right, so im positive they are installed as they were meant to be.

To tell you the truth I don't think it makes much of a difference. And if you think about it wouldn't you would want the slants to push the heat outward away from the center of the rotor not to the middle. I'd actually prefer not to have any slots or cross-drilling done. I would however like to fabricate some type of brake cooling duct similar to what the c5 corvette uses. And use something like this
