Interior Trim Project

Ok so it's not Real Carbon Fiber but its better then that burl wood brown that clash so bad! I just got to take care of a few bubbles and its set. This is just Carbon Fiber "Look" vinyl. The real stuff is allot more expensive but already has 3M adhesive backing. I was just skeptical on buying it without knowing if it was going to wrap around the curves well. Rene, (That1mexguy) helped me out. Rene, do you have the before pics?
Next is a real carbon fiber trim kit for the rest of the precut parts...

i tried that ideal a few months back. I bought extra set of the factory wood trim and used the carbon fiber vinyl to wrap it in.

but i left the trim laying around in my room and the vinyl started to peel off before i even installed it... so i decided to skip this project...

you did a good job on that... which brand vinyl did you use. I used 3m and i dunno why they peeled so easily...

Yeah I remember you talking about that back then. The vinyl I used did not have adhesive backing. I used water/soap solution and a heat gun. Just like applying window tint.

Only cause I don't know how it will stick. Have not experienced the thickness in person.

Hey dude thats exactly What I want to do on my interior did you have to take off the wooden panels to have vinly installed??? If you did can you tell me how to take it out properly thanks

They just pop right off. Get a flat head screw driver to help you out nice and slow.

I did have to take them off in order to wrap the vinyl around.

Clean up the wood with alcohol and let dry.
spray the solution onto the wood
take the vinyl and carefully wrap the piece from one end to the other. Use the heat gun to stretch the corners into place and to stick the sides nice and tucked. Use heat to dry it also.
leave it in the sun for 1 hour at least or heat gun for 2 minutes.

for bubles or wrinkles either lift one side and apply it again. for bubles that develop after it drys just get a needle and pop it and then use hot air to flaten out and press it with your finger.

Don't heat to much as it will melt.
keep it away about 8 - 12 inches.

I was just checking out this thread and thought that you did a really good job.

I was just wondering how the carbon fiber like vinyl is holding out? Any peeling or what is your impression?
