What's everyone using in their car octane wise?

N/A = use 87 will do the same, but use name brand gas

It all depends on how cheap I feel that day and whether or not I'm - - looking for more performance or just want to get from point A to point B. SO I jump around from 87-91-93 octane. With gas prices these days, I have been sticking with the lower end of the echelon. :wink:

I use high octane all the way. It doesn't make good sense to use low octane gas for car that requires high.

check your owners manual...

Toyota recommends using 91 octane in the 2004 Solara owners manual for better performance for the V6's....

i am using 89 in mine as i got the 4 cyl. auto and i always felt a little extra octane helped the engine feel stronger in my Scion xB, so hopefully it will help here too....

Minimum requirement for the V6 in the owner's manual is 87 octane. They recommend 91 octane for better performance. But you won't notice any difference in performance or economy. At least I don't.

I notice a HUGE difference in both performance and fuel economy. Using 93 only for the last 30-40K and do not regret a bit.

I concur. I notice the trip computer is more accurate when putting 93 in. Plus the vehicle responds better.

In fact I really like Shell's new V-Power 93 premium gas.

I'd certainly hope 93 octane would show some improvement. My post was comparing 87 to 91 though. Glad to hear some see improvements with 93 but are the improvements really worth the price difference over 87 octane gas?
