turbochargers
I didn;t want to hijack a thread... The one about the GT40R install on the 1mz in the Camry. Which was a very clean install from what I saw. But I've got some questions about Turbos. I know how they work, have driven them etc.. but never modified a car with one. Sidenote: I had a Plymouth Sundance w/ a 2.2 intercooled turbo: Wheee! <no laughing>
Isn't a 'charger like that (a GT40R) a bit big for the street? From my understanding, if you get a huge turbo like that it's great for absolute power, but you get lag untill 4 or 5,000 rpm.
And what's this about a tangential turbo? Is the turbine and the compressor counter-rotating and gear driven? Or is this something far simpler that I'm not guessing.
