A/C idle issue...

A/C idle issue...

Postby GzNutz » Sat Jun 27, 2009 7:43 am

While at idle without the A/C on, my lara sits at about 700 RPM with an AFR of 15. Once I turn my A/C on the idle rpm drops to less than 600, gets rough and leans out to afr >18... basically starts to sputter out.
CEL I believe was a p0171 and p0174, lean bank 1 & 2 --> what the wideband uego is reading.

Recently I had a CAI extension added. Before with just an SRI I was not experiencing this. The CAI set up involved adding piping between the throttle body and the existing SRI pipe (relocated the sri). The battery had been unplugged and the ecu is functioning great when the A/C is off. All vacuum lines have been checked, double checked and checked again.

Any ideas as to why the engine is not compensating for the A/C compressor turning on? Could a simple ecu relearn with the A/C on at idle for a few minutes possibly solve this?
Thanks for your time,
Garrett

Also, when cruising with the A/C on the afr's are back to 15. So the issue is only while at idle.

whenever i d/c the battery i idle the car for 15 minutes so the ecu relearns everything
i didn't do it once when i redid my exhaust and it was rough as hell
but after i let it idle for 10-15 minutes worked just fine

just tried this but with no luck, the engine now raises rpm's by about 50-100 like it is trying to compensate but still is giving an AFR of 18+. I'm sure something is going on because just a week before I had the extension on the AFR would be 15 with the A/C on.
