Catalytic Converter

My check engine light came on on Monday.
I took the car to the dealer today to see what was the problem and the code it thru was for faulty Catalytic Converter.
The delaer did not have the part so now I have to wait for it to come in.

Have anyone had any issues with their Catalytic Converter yet.

My car is the 04 SE Sport 4 cyl with 34,000 miles

I'm saving the Cat TSB for much later so just before the warranty expires... "Hey, I smell sulphur" (assuming it's still happpening) Then I'll get a new one. Your's is covered still right?

I was told by the service rep that emission componets have 80,000 mile waranty

I got my new catalytic installed today.
By the way the engine code is P0420
The invoice was for $828.45
I did not how expensive it was.
Was cover by waranty

I thought the Cat TSB was only for 4 bangers... can you hook me up with the number for the V6 version?

I just drove 50 miles with the new cat and the car is so smooth on the pedal now. what a difference.

The converter change applies only to the precious metal loading only. The substrate and the pipe assembly did not change.

By changing the loading and the washcoat, it is less likely to retain sulphur in the honeycomb substrate.

There should be no performance gain or loss. [sorry]
