my CEL blinks 6 times when i start my car up, i have never noticed it, however does anyone know what this means? its a v6 with 21K miles, have not had my 20K maintenance done on it, because i went to discount tire and got a rotate and balance for free and changed the oil myself bringing my 20K maintenance to a whopping 25-35 bucks. i am considering changing my fuel filter since those need to be done about every 15K...thanks guys!

I think it means there's a code in the ECU that is no longer active. I goofed up when I put my intake back to stock once and it would put on the CEL when I gunned it. Then it would go off but would flash at start up. I fixed the install but had to clear my ECU to get rid of the flashing.

1. Check the owners manual. It'll tell you what the blinking means for sure.
2. If it's a code, most local parts stores will plug in and read it for free.
3. depending what it is, they can clear it or you can take off the batt cable for >30 min to clear it.
