First of all, thanks to Sp33d for making this happen. I've always been jealous of those who had the kit. I'm thankful for this resurrection and it couldn't have happened unless Sp33d made the move. Thanks again, Mark! (<-- aka Sp33d).

Here is before:

And now here is after:

And here is the comparison of the two rotors:

Reflections:
Had a bit of issues from initial install. I had thought that this was just plug and play but it turns out that there was a very minor rubbing issue with the brake pad brackets against the new rotor as well as a fitment issue. After correcting the two issues rubbing noise went away and my stopping power is definitely noticeable (almost dramatic, but I don't wanna sound....dramatic).

I only changed the rotors and pads so i'm still using stock brakelines therefore the slight feel of shaking was reduced a bit but neverthless still remained. I will change out the brakelines in due time to see what the improvements are. But again, stopping power for me has been noticeably better and stronger.

I will post more pictures and explanations of what i had to do to correct the issues.

Good luck to all of those who plan on doing this mod.

DAm, those look hot under your shoes.

Just a quick question- how you know what side those rotors are suppose to be facing? Like according to the slots.

^^My friend, the rotors only go on one way.
Unless you meant front or rear?

Those rotors are looking good; fills out reeeaaalll nice behind those wheels!

Good question. Took me some research to figure that out too. It's not about the direction of the slot. What matters is how the air cools the rotors. There's some air space in the center of the rotor. If you let it stand on its edge from looking top down you can see that some rotors are designed to cut in to the air so that air will flow through the rotor. You just gotta spin the rotor and figure out if the grooves are cutting in to the air or not. If they are then they are spinning the right direction

The slots remove brake dust, making for better contact of the pad to the rotor.
The drill holes help cool the rotor. A hot rotor and/or brake pads will make it harder to stop braking sooner.

Even if your contact area is the same, with drilled/slotted rotors you should have better braking. Maybe not a massive difference but there should be a difference.

just think of a spinning bike tire or see-saw.

Would you rather push/pull from the inside for less TQ or grip it from the end for more power?

Also just a baseball bat, super short stick or long bat thats held at the end? You'd still have 2 hands/ same contact area but more TQ on your side.

Sorry I have to chime in since it involves supra parts. On a solara I bet it does make a difference....

But man... On a supra its useless in stopping power. First hand experience those stock supra tt size rotors with cap gets hot so fast that we have a hard time stopping EVEN with the slots and drills.

It looks a lot better on a solara.
