better to buy new rotors if current ones are warped

Hari: you are asking for durating of rotor life, which is a derivative of your braking skills and how it was treated. All in all i'm at 135K miles on my current rotor setup. And they still have meat on them. I replace pads and resurface rotors every 60K miles (regardless of any noice, virbration or anything). In Other words they have been machined twice already. Yes it may be an unnecessary expence, but i don't may go thru total of two sets of rotors for my 10 year ownership of the car. I hope this helps...I'd say get new pads and resurface the current rotors. Resurfacing (machineing) costs close to $20 bucks at pepboys (ie. 10 per rotor).

pretty much any shop that does brakes man. Why dont you just get new brakes? I can help you install them if you want, I did mine. I paid like $220 for all 4 (slotted/drilled brembos)

I think for only like around 60- 80 bucks you can get new brake pads and have your rotors resurfaced, that's really cheap.

ok well i called a few places, and every place wants at least 120 for new pads and to resurface the rotors. they all said that they cant resurface the rotors without putting new pads on there.

EDIT: I have a friend who can get me brembo blanks for $56/pair, and some Akebona ProACT pads for $33/pair. Add in shipping for around 15 bucks and it seems like its cheaper to get new pads and rotors every time rather than pay for resurfacing....

someone correct me if im wrong?
