im sorry guys but when we started selling HID kits, the kelvin is merely the color, what are the peak lumens? I would consider that a little more important than the color, there are some HORRIBLE kits out there.

Something I plan to definately get in the future....IF I get the HID's, does anybody know how to disconnect the day running lights b/c I got the 99 Solara with day running lights and there is no option to have them on or off...there just constantly on (never used the light switch at night cuz they come on by themselves).......... #Beer

How long do these types of things usually last? Also which temps are considered safe to use.

Hey Guys

theoretically, the xenon bulb lasts 2000+ hours, but that's for OEM xenon supplies. Such as Hella, Philips...etc. McCoulough (probably spelled wrong) I don't know about though, it most likely uses ASIAN MADE BULBS. They aren't known to last as long as the genuine HID parts.

they are defnitely a heck of a lot cheaper. And McCoulough is pretty much a "name" brand in the area of "aftermarket hid rebased kits"
for a kit by philips, you're looking at 600+

well, frankly, I've gotta say this. anything over 6000k is crap. Sorry Krawyazn, but I can't just keep this in and see my fellow brothers and sisters buy useless kits. with 10,000 k, you'll get crazy color, but trust me, the light output would equal that of a flash light. maybe less...

even 6000k is pushing it a little.

for best output...4100k , all cars with OEM HID uses 4100k, ALL!!!
you might say, why are their HID's so blue/purple, even without projectors? (i.e. Acura TL/CL), the reason is, they are shielded well. so no yellow escapes from the bulb.

well...that's my little input, I just hope everyone can enjoy the true advantages of HID, and the true joy of owning it. If I offended anyone, I'm sorry, but the truth is the truth.

that's all, folks!

God bless

Kevin

Also...I gotta add

don't know if everyone knows this, but the color temperature (4100. 6000.8000...etc) does not depend on the ballast, or anything else in the kit, but the BULB ITSELF.

you can change the color just by buying new "K" bulbs. some people think it's the ballast, it's really not

the bulb!

God bless

Kevin
