No More Duct Tape!!! (56K No Way)

After almost a year I finally got my Lara back to normal. Before I get to all the modz and pics let me start from the begining.

To Recap for those who have no idea what Im talking about. Last year I hydroplaned on I-35, avoided being crushed by a big rig, and hit a guard rail.

I was ok but my Solara was not. The air bags didnt go off. I dont know if that was a good thing or a bad thing. I split the bumper in three places. Shattered both headlamps, broke the clips on the corners and fogs. The OEM grill was good just some scratches from the rail and the top mounting hole split. I also had to cut the front part of the splash shields for her to roll right. I was thankfull that the hood and fenders were ok and not bent or scratched in the least. The reinforcement bar pretty much saved the entire front end of my car.

So I filled a claim with my insurance company and they were not fast about it at all. While I was waiting I put my front end back together with the pieces I collected off the highway.

As you can see I put some clear tape over the headlamp to keep the elements from knocking out the new bulb. By the way that $10 bulb was all I spent rigging this up.
Image

Well a few weeks went by and I ended up getting a check for $1900. I was surprised too. I didnt think I was gona get a check. I thought I was gona have to pay the $500 deductable and get a shop to fix it. So I cashed it and started buyin parts.

Recognize these corners Fernando??? 8)

Here is my new painted bumper. Of course yall have been lookin at this shot for weeks now. New fogs and splash shields as well.

New headlamps from Depot.

I installed these headlamps and corners atleast a few dozen times just to get it right.

Image

Got some HIDs too, 6000K H4 Diamond White. They are bright. I love'm!!!
Image

They look blue from this angle.
Image

They look green now. Sweet!!!

Yep, that $1900 went pretty quick.
Front bumper painted Fairway Green Pearl (where most of the money went)
HIDs 6000K H4
a set of fogs
a set of splash shields
a set of headlamps
a set of black corners
4 new tires

After some long weekends and a lot of beer I put her back together. Here she is before her final transformation.

Thats how she was for about 4 months. Then I got my bonus from work and got some mods. I also cleared up the ret of those nasty gaps.

Mods:
TRD RSB
Tein S-Tech Springs
Clear corners
Sarona grill w/some fab work
20 % Diamond Tint all around
Fully debaged
Green LED turn sigs
Superwhite LED in the LP
2 way paging alarm w/remote start SRT 9000 by Code Alarm

I present to you now my lovely Gen 1:

Well, there she is and it took me almost a year to get it the way I like it. Im very happy with the way she looks now. Shes not all jacked up anymore either. With the Teins it dropped 1.75 up front and 1.6 in the back. With the added combination of the TRD RSB she handles wonerfully. About half way through the Sarona grill install I wasnt sure if it was gona look right. I had to do some shaving on the sides to get a seamless look. Its no Renova, but I love the way the Sarona resembles the lines of the OEM grill.

So what do you think???

car looks very good bro...I liked the black corners though...they'd look really nice if you blacked out your headlights too. I like that grille too! Nice work. Glad to see you got her back lookin proper.

Nice transformation. Ouch all that for 1900... That bumper better not get rock chips easily if it cost that much.

Whats the wheel specs? You have alot of fender gap still.

The black corners would of looked super sick if you had black housed your heads, either way though looking tight.I'm loving the grill
