Saying goodbye to my 3mz/1mz Built Camry!

Postby trd4life » Wed Feb 11, 2009 5:00 pm

Well tomorrow i will be removing the 3mz/1mz Hybrid engine that i pioneered 3 yeas ago and selling it to a very lucky MR2 owner who will be adding a TRD supercharger to it. Wish i could have gone farther with the car but with the addition of the TT GS300 to my stable i was forced to sell a bunch of stuff. If anyone in the future wishes to build a hybrid 3mz/1mz engine let me know i would be happy to help out.

That's too bad, but I bet that Mister Two owner's going to be really happy with his new engine.

I think there's alot of gain in torque cause of the .3 liters.

Anyways, that's goin' to be crazy fast in an MR2.
And plus S/C'ed even more crazyness.

That SW20 onwer is a lucky sunuvabitch. Had I been located closer to Gabe, that motor would've been mine. Oh wells, guess it's back to work as usual on the Z.

The motor is actually being shipped to Portland, Oregon . I told the buyer i would go half with him on the shipping. 15,000 miles on the motor, its only had 3 royal purple oil changes! And with the heads being ported and the large block, the new owner should expect 300whp at 7psi no problem! :D

And some more torque! YEAH!

BTW, you sold the motor? What about the transmission...which one was or will be paired to the hybrid 1MZ/3MZ?

Yup the motor has been sold. The transmission in the car is a 1997 Camry v6 auto trans. The new owner will be pairing the engine to a E153 Mr2 turbo manual trans, its a direct bolt on. So yeah, not only is it going from a camry to an mr2, from n/a to s/c/ its going from auto to manual! That mr2 is gonna scream!

glad to hear that it went to somebody that would five it a good home!

I hope that guy will swap the diff from the e53 to his e153 though...cuz we all know how fast 1st and 2nd gears goes through on that tranny with a simple 1mz at 7psi, much less a 3mz at 7psi...it's ridiculous
