I agree, that's a reasonable price, you gotta pay to play kids.

hskrsolara Yeah, I know, it's kind of a shame after all the discussion we had, but I always keep an open mind, and the price was fair too.
I will make sure to pass on all the advices you gave me to wagonsrule.

ToyoSolV6 wrote:Yup, solaras arent hondas these cars are expensive to maintain and expensive to make fast but a lot of us have gotten these cars to go fast. Even though not a lot of people appreciate these cars going fast anymore. even when i joined the forum everyone was going nuts trying to get supercharged, now everyone is parting and i see almost no one hop on these anymore before these rare scs would go quick they wouldnt last 2 weeks before they were gone. i really hope the perfomance scene goes up again and the day they do i hope these chargers go up back to the price people used to sell them. some think 1700 to 2400 is expensive, crap thats dirt cheap considering they were going for 3k plus before. either way the price is fair for everything he is giving with it. glws and hope u sell it soon man

Sadly the performance scene would never go up again for Solara/Camrys. Our cars are 10-15 years old and there are so many better alternatives mostly because Solara/Camrys are never meant to be real performance cars. Not many people would want to start boosting their Solara at 120k miles.

I am happy for OP for having his SC sold. And it is true that Solara/Camry owners are younger and younger, aka poorer and poorer. But people here have to understand the fact that the TRD supercharger is a depreciating asset. Sadly, it is not like if TRD made a SC for the 2JZ, it wouldn't depreciate for the next 10 years. I agree that you need to pay to play. But you guys can see that less people are willing to play and it's a fact.

I can appreciate folks who start saving at a young age, especially those who work to save. I bought my Solara at 22 all in cash using money I had saved up as well. more props to you wagon.

Very true. I did the same, as well as all my mods/toys coming from cash savings too. If you dont have the money to play, buckle down and save up, or give it up and change plans. If you don't have the $ to play, don't bash on threads that are out of your price range.

The guys that are devoted to saving up and doing it responsibly, not cutting corners in the process, will continue success.

The nickel and dimers will continue to talk big, act like they know it all, complain about how broke they are, try to tell everyone else how worthless their rare parts are, and end up going nowhere in the process. Talk is cheap and nobody takes these types of people seriously.

For those that think the platform is dying, tell Gabe and the latest crop of California guys that. Also look at how fast these SC's are snatched up on the MR2 forums and on ebay and even abroad.

Good luck wagonsrule with the purchase. Looking forward to the results.

Thanks guys, as soon as it will be installed this spring, I'll post up here. If you want to have a fast car, don't spend on useless stuff (be like me and have no cable or TV) and save money. (And work for it too :) ) And yeah, you're right, I have been wanting to buy one for 1-2 years and everytime I tried buying one, it was sold by the time my PM got responded. ASG14 and Gabe are selling these SC's like crazy. And thanks to MIK and you HSKRSOLARA for the tips for the install. I already had a 255lph pump, SAFC1 and I am going to make a circuit for controlling the EBC so it cuts boost at shifts. (Very easy to program a microprocessor to send a signal to the EBC when the gears shift)
For the rest (SRI or CAI, exhaust) I will see when I install it and get it tuned.

Totally true. I got my first car when I was 16 and since I turned 15 I bought and paid almost everything for myself. At one summer I was taking 2 summer classes and 2 jobs at the same time. I might as well have my house at the age of 21, how great is that?

Unlike some spoiled kids these days, all those kids that are 16-17 showing up with the BMW's their dad bought them don't get respect from me at all.

Also, I laugh at all these guys that are done at school and working full time making fun of College kids because they are poor. Don't act like you've never passed through that phase of your life unless you are one of these spoiled brats.

Sometimes I wonder if I;m one of the few last going hardcore all out........Hoping to have the Camry back on the road in 6 weeks.

And the person I sold the SC too is pretty much unknown, and will be coming in hardcore with surprises. :) Seems liek the ones still goign all out are the ones with the "unusual" models, if you know what I mean......

Yeah :D , what's more unusual than a camry wagon? A Highlander with a supercharger... (lol). I need the space for the job I do (TV repairman) and the solara or camry sedan or coupe doesn't cut it when it comes to carrying 60" plasma TV's and LCD's. It was the camry wagon or a dodge caravan. Which one would you have chosen. And people are always saying how nice a car I have. ( must be because here in Canada, wagons are common (but not camry wagon')

Hahaha I have to admit I live in the woods but it's still a 70000 pop. town in Quebec.
I have always found the Solara gen1 to be one of the most beautiful and awesome large size coupe on the market. One of my neighbors has one. Toyota was really ahead of it's time in the start of the 90's to 2000. The solara, camry wagon, supra, mr2, etc. were much better looking than almost all other cars in their respective years.
