does anyone know if the 130 amp altenator from a 2006 lexus RX330 with a 3.3 v6 3mzfe engine will bolt right up to our 1mzfe?

If not, does anyone know what years and engine highlander you can get the 130 amp altenator from?

That alternator should bolt right up. The highlander 4x4 towing edition has the 130 amp, it has been used without problems.

Also there is a Sienna with either the 1mz, or the 3mz that has a 150 amp that has been bolted up to a 1mz before....

but is the alternator makes 130 Amp instead of 80 Amp wouldn't that be too much and/or blow some fuses?

I have the highlander towing package alternator in my Camry.

It's I think, 120Amps.

It won't blow anything, it still puts out the same voltages.

do you guys think i'll still have to do the big 3 with the new alternator? or will the 50 more amps stop the lights from dimming and all that

That's not possible if it's power before the fuse.....

so it's pretty easy to replace? from what i've been finding it's just remove old wires, unbolt, put new one in and hook it up

what do you need a higher amp alternator for? is it your music pulling too much power? if so, why not buy a capacitor? or is it for performance reasons? sorry just curious and noob to this

did the swap today. bolted right in and even used the same belt even though the highlander pulley was smaller. seems to be working great. bought a used one off ebay for 65.00 shipped with a lifetime warr.

i did the swap because my stock alternator was not charging at idle and i've added an aftermakert audio system which requires more current.

a capacitor cannot supply more current. it can only store what you have and help in short bursts of time.
