you technically can but it may not bond so well to the plastic and may also peel pretty quickly. there are paints that are specifically made for sticking to plastic that will work better. remember to give it a good sand and apply several clear coats as well to ensure a smooth(er) finish.

I use duplicolor.

Just sand it down, clean it, then spray.

Hmmmm....I think that looks a little off. It's an interesting idea though. I prefer a shiny chrome or gold emblem vs the black. If you want to do that, you can just mask of the rest of the grill and spray the middle. No need to redo the whole thing unless you want to. Have fin with it and post pics when you finish.
Trust me, I'm a technician.

You can use any, just sand it down first so the paint could stick on good.

I used Krylon Fusion on mine, works real well. It's designed for painting plastics. Even though its not needed I used adhesion promoter prior to spraying and then clear coated it when finished with the black.

Krylon fusion is the best for sticking to plastic.
Sand it down, do a few LIGHT coats, then spray a few light coats of clear coat on it. i did that 2 or 3 years ago and it still looks brand new.
