it would be awesome if we could get one with a design like this though it would be a bit more expensive:

If they want to incorporate the side marker lights into those side LED's that are shown in that headlight, thats fine with me....but im not feelin the halo look on our setup.

I'm pretty sure they can do the halo and LED's. EXCEPT, due to it being a group thing, I just wanted everyone to get a general idea of where this project might head without all the fancy bells and whistles. That way the price will (hopefully) be reasonable if we keep it down to a minimum. OF COURSE, if you decide that you DO want all those fancy bells and whistles, you can contact them independently for a one-off and get your own separate price. I suggest you wait a bit on a one-off though so that way they can work out all the bugs with this first wave.

I'm going to give him a call tomorrow, I just wanted to make sure the info I put up was given enough time so most of the members could get to it, that's why I haven't called him today...

Anyway, I have all the questions written down somewhere so that way I can reference them when I call the guy. I'll definitely ask him to price each and every little thing I can think of (such as D2S and halo's and whatnot) so that way you folks can get a general idea of pricing from basic to premium.

PS. From what I've gathered so far from their forums, when going into unknown territory it takes them about a month to get things right. Just a general idea of how long it MIGHT take.

Browse their gallery for a bit if you'd like, they do pretty much show-car quality work.

OK so I called Nic at CiNcity a few minutes ago. There's some bad news and some good news.

He said the usual starting price is $1500. Just for a retrofit.
Due to the size of our order(s), he'll be able to work something out on that price
He's never worked on Solara headlights before so he's not sure of the turn around time

He might be able to work out something if I give him some info on previous retrofits that SG members have done before (information such as projectors, shrouds, and fitment). Also, if he had a template to work with we might not have to send in our headlights as cores, he could just make them from scratch.
Someone has to supply him with a set of headlights to work on..."lab rat" if you will.

Pretty much what it comes down to is he's going to need a set to work on and experiment with first. Obviously he's not going to go out and buy a set on his own unless he sees some form of cash to cover it. As far as having to send your headlights in, the info wasn't very clear. From what I understand though, you'll most likely have to send yours in for a retrofit. Unless, of course, we get that "donor" headlight in and have him take it apart and go from there, possibly ending up with a made-from-scratch kind of deal.

With price being the biggest factor so far, I think if we could get the headlights to look like those generic ebay ones that sell for $300, the price might probably come down significantly from $1500 to something more affordable. Currently, $1500 is not something I'd like to spend on headlights.

So...anyone have a spare set of headlights lying around?

seeing that price doesn't surprise me one bit, judging what he has done on other cars why it is so high. Well keep us posted, I don't have an extra set or else i would send ya them or even try my hand out at my own retro fit.

I have a spare passenger side so... if no one puts up a donor set i'll hit up a junkyard and try to get a spare driver side to donate the set.

I'll be honest, DIY retro ftw. From my perspective anyway...

Before we actually send anything let me get another session with him ok? Try to get things cleared up.

As far as price goes, like Dawgz said, it's probably not going to go near 300...but you'll never know unless you try right? If anything we could try contacting those ebay dealers and see what they can do.

What we need is a big company like depo to design, research, and develop a mass produced projector headlight for our cars. I dont think we are going to see the results we want to with someone that builds retrofits from stock headlights. That's my two cents on this one...
