Postby shobo » Wed Jun 04, 2008 7:08 pm

I need help!!!!!I just installed my Injen SRI on my 2004 solara I4 and now my car battery keeps dying; even while im driving. I went to Autozone and the guy tested the battery and he said its still good.

This is what happened, after I finished with the installation....I connected the negative battery...start the car..wouldn't start...start it again..wouldn't start...3rd try and the car starts...feels sluggish while i accelerate and then dies while im on the road....also my car window won't go up or down automatically...WTF!!! HELP!!!! This is my only transportation for school and finals is coming up...AHHHHH

P.S: I followed through all the steps and the intake sits very tight and strong....so iono wats up.

I just installed it on my 04 SLE v6 as well... I didn't run into any problems like this... i cant Imagen how this could possibly mess with the battery. Unless you somehow made a connection in the wire that your supposed to disconnect and tuck away. (the one that connects to that second valve that is eliminated on the left side of the stock intake) I am not sure if this applys to the I4...

As for your window problem, thats just because the battery was disconnected. To reset the auto window you need to open the window shut the car off leaving the key in the ignition. Then close the door, open it and start the car and it should work automatically again.

disconnect the battery again make sure all the connections are correct
after u reconnect the battery and restart the car let it idle for 5-10 minutes
this might help

also the auto windown
press and hold all the way down until the window is down
then pull up and hold up until its all the way up....hold for a few seconds... then should be full auto again

I know it sounds odd that 1-touch window/sunroof has to reset once battery disconnect.
I know it’s not only happening to solara.
most cars which has 1-touch function required reset if battery disconnect. (i know every Honda has to reset also.)
but then, i never heard relearn process required to take door panel off...

Reset process is pretty easy...
1.turn the car power on (leave driver side door open)
2.roll the window all the way down (or open sun-roof fully open)
3.turn off the power then close the door properly
4.turn the power on again
5.close the window all the way up (or fully close sun-roof)
6.turn off the power

1 touch system should work now. Otherwise, contact dealer~

Note: this works for the WINDOW only.... for the sunroof kingkakyle is correct...

Wire brush the terminals on the battery and hook it up again. Or if you have some contact spray, that stuff rox.

If that doesn't fix things, make sure you didn't mess with the alternator.

Yeah this really sounds like your not making a good connection. I had this with my camry where it wasn't tight, and was vibrating loose on the highway.

yo yo yo...thx for the advice on the window...I will try it. As for the battery, its working now. I think my battery was drained and I should of let it charged for awhile before taking off. I was too excited to try out the new intake...wat can i say?....Well, as for the intake...im loving it...love the growling sound....especially at night when I'm driving down the street....I feel very sexual every time the engine growls....As performance wise.....I had the K&N filter before and its nothing compared to this. The injen intake is more responsive and definately my 0-60 take off has improved from the low end to high end....but thats just my 2 cents...All solara owners should definately look into this as your upgrade for performance.

that's a helluva a butt dyno you're experiencing lol...check out the cp-e intake for REAL performance gains and additionally check your car to see if it's VIN number falls under the throttle lag/response problem the early 2004 models had...that might be a little extra something to give your 4 banger a boost!
