I think you had a typo. TRD (to the best of my knowledge) doesn't make a FSB or anyone else either. For the gen 2 only a RSB and a Front Tower Brace are available from TRD. They do offer other stuff but not part of this topic.

Both are worth it especially on a convertible. Mine was so loose it was scary before installing them and is night and day difference with them. The RSB is adjustable with 3 positions which enables better sway control while maintaining the same ride quality or stiffening it up a little.

The TRD FSTB (Front Strut Tower Brace) makes a HUGE difference in handling (especially noticeable on the convertibles) as it is made with solid steel bars instead of rolled sheet metal that the OEM ones are made of.

There should be pics/info on here... try a Search.

Yea Yea Yea, you guys knew what I was talking about lol. Sorry, came back from Iraq a few months ago....thought I got rid of all the sand, guess some is still in my brain. Anyhow, yea, the tower brace...is ther a BIG difference between the OEM one is have and the TRD one. Im sure the after market one from TRD is better, but is it so much better that I should remove the factory one and spend a couple hundred on he TRD one?

There are plenty or articals out there on the idea of strut tower bars and how they work. The basic principle is this. When you lower the center of gravity, the top has of the U shaped frame has a tendency to flex. By attaching the FSTB, you change it from a U shape to a Box shape. While our stock car can benifit a bit from it, it is much more beneficial with a lowered car as there is more flex at the top of the struts. The TRD one is build out of solid material while the factory one is out of sheet metal. This will make it stiffer and more resistant to flex so it will help. Weather or not you notice it is up to how you drive. If it's your only mod, i doubt you'll notive a difference, but if you combine it with some lowering springs and a rear sway bar, you will have a much more rigid setup.

Is the strut tower brace heavier than stock?

 Geezes... is anybody actually reading the responses here or just posting for the hell of it?

Let's see... rolled sheet metal tubing (OEM) vs solid steel bars welded together (TRD)... hmmm

Heavier?
You tell me.

Stronger?
You tell me.

Perform better than OEM?
Already told you!

Just don't go there until you have the RSB. That makes the HUGE difference in handling. FSTB is second on the list of cheap/easy suspension tweaks.
