Well this might be off subject but I was wondering does the ballast need a ground cable? Since the kit that I recieve didnt include one. I seen videos on youtube and this pictures and it looks like it does cant anybody clarify this for me :-?

Well, also might be the focus... I noticed that my output was kinda dim at first, and the "against-the-wall" beam looked a bit "hollow". On my kit, there's 3 tiny screws on the base of the connector that you can use to adjust the beam pattern, and even align it to a certain extent.

Sometimes it's also the K rating; sometimes going too high may look good, but sometimes that kills it as well. Mine are 4100K, just like most factory BMW/Lexus, whereas I drove next to a purple HID-equipped car, and my lights PWNED it in output; and I only had ONE Silverstar light (plus the fogs)!
If that's not the problem, the physics of lighting notates that black absorbs light and doesn't reflect as good as silver, not to mention I noticed that's been the chief complaint of many people who have black housing lights.

Well it should already have one... At least in my kit, there should be a cluster of 3 wires running from the igniter (in the pic it's that black thing next to the ballast); 2 plugs and 1 with a metal loop. The largest plug goes into the ballast, the thin plug goes to the connector of the HID bulb, and then the one with the loop is the ground.

Hope this helps!

I dont think my kit had those three adjuster screws for focusing. I got a McColluch 8000k. It just came with an H4 adapter for the bulb. I actually adjusted them up higher but I was only able to get the driver side higher. The passenger side was already set as high as it would go. It did throw the beam out a bit farther, but it looks retarded when light is adjusted higher than the other. I guess thats the draw back a aftermarket parts. But at least it looks good!

^There's a tutorial in here for sanding it down with a dremel, but ONLY do it if you notice an inconsistent beam pattern since this is pretty permanent.

Also like I said, might be that the K rating is a bit high (you said 8000K); yours is more of a deep blue/almost purple right?

Its blue. My buddy took a ride in the car this weekend and he commented on how they were really bright. So maybe I just had high expectations. I readjusted the driver side light back since it looks better where I had it and I think I was blinding people. I was getting a considerable more amount of people flashing their brights at me.
