Well I finally have my system in and I'm so happy. Unfortunately my sub isn't working for some reason. Power light is on and I can barely feel it hitting. Any ideas? I have a JL 10W7 and a 500/1.

Unfortunately tech support is closed till Monday. I'm going to mess with it after dinner. Hopefully I'll figure it out. After that I'll post some vids and pics!

Thanks,
-Anthony

I am no pro, and I don't know your background in car Audio.
As a guess, I would start with the GAIN, Check that it is at about 50% for your amp. Check to make sure you are using the Low Pass Filter. Sub is wired in Phase. Your deck may have a sub setting incorporated into it. make sure it is turned up.
Here is hoping that you find the problem before monday
It sux to have a new system in that won't perform for ya
(been there)

Yeah I sent a text message to Blak and he was actually in the area so we met up for about an hour and a half. He was looking at it and we called one of the installers from Sound Advice and we tried some more troubleshooting but so far nothing.

Gains look good, we turned the subwoofer up to +15 on the HU (Alpine 9856) and heard no difference. It's getting signal but it's not bumping. We switched RCA's from the 300/4 since the mids/highs were working good and we had the same result. I'm going to mess with it tomorrow and see what I come up with.

Thanks

1) Check the fuse on the power cable by the battery terminal.

2) Check your Ground Wires.

3) Check the terminals INSIDE THE BOX to make sure one hasn't fallen out.

4) Check fuses ON AMPLIFIER.

- if already checked prior to this post.. . sorry! LOL. good luck!

Lol this one just caused me a huge headache since I just finished installing my 12" sub in my camry. I got power to my amp, fuses were fine, ground was fine, I couldn't check the rcas but I assumed they were fine. So I took my sub outta my box and rechecked the plugs and saw that when I put the sub back into the box the quick disconnect clip kept falling off haha. Put it back in and it was fine, so basically just start from the front and recheck everything

I believe 1, 2, and 4 are all "power-related" issues. Fuse on power cable, ground wires, and fuses on amplifier. I believe he said he IS getting power in his first post. But he's just not getting sound.

So I agree with onetohate on the 3rd advice. Check your speaker connection to make sure they are all firmly attached. In addition, make sure your head unit is actually out putting a subwoofer signal. You got an Alpine right? Go to the setup menu and make sure "Subwoofer --> On", haha, silly mistake, but hey, it can happen. Keep us updated and Good Luck!

Thanks for all the advice, I think I've narrowed it down to the amplifier. I'm going to take off work early so I can call their tech support and see what they say.

I've ran a separate set of RCA's to eliminate a bad cable there. / I've removed the sub and the speaker wires were connected just fine, I ran a separate run from the sub to the amp to make sure that none of those were bad cables. / Sub is turned "on" on the head unit. / Fuses look okay. / I tested another W7 as well and had the same result.

Hopefully they'll take care of me, the date on the amp box says it was manufactured 2 years ago but I never used it till now. I'll keep you guys posted once I hear from them tomorrow.

Check your signal. Is it an aftermarket deck? Did you make sure you didnt plug it into the front rca rather the sub ones?
