why bypass factory amp?

Not if you use bass reducer, as well as setting it in the Head unit to only play crisp sound no bass, and allowing the sub to play the bass

just make you a high pass filter with an cutoff around 500Hz or so... all you need is a resistor and a capacitor, you can calculate the impedance required for whatever cutoff you want, OR you could use a potentiometer and make your filter tuneable. It'll make your shiiit sound nice

Yep. That's all that those bass blockers are is a resistor inside some sort of housing (usually plastic).
