I thought so too, but it can only do so much. Check out the pictures of where the knock sensors are located. The front and rear are no more than 3-4inches apart. IT might help just a little, but both sensors are still located right under the intake plentum which is under the s/c and a good place for echoing leading to false/amplified sounds to the sensors. Relocation might help, but you lose the safety. Seems like only thing you can do is help filter out the sounds or use a stronger senso (GM)

*update*

I ordered a brand new knock sensor wire harness so I could play aroudn with the ATS GM knock sensor. IT DOESNT WORK! Maybe the sensor just doesnt like my engine, but it acts the same as if there was nothing was hooked up to it. Anyone have any tips to get my junk to work? Im so tired of having a CEL with no power on. Gawd... its slower than stock

yup, bought the exact kit and even bought me a new harness. I left all my stock sensors and harness there because it was too much trouble taking it all apart. Only thing is, I'm using only one GM sensor for both wires to the ECU.

Doing a test on the dyno. With knock sensor CEL your car will run rich heavily. My car did 202whp normal then ran a 177whp with the CEL on knock sensor... Thats a 25whp LOST!!

That proves your car will loose a huge amount of power.

Now My knock sensors finnally went back on. Now Im joining the list of how the F do I get this fix.. SHIIIIIIIIIIIIZZZZZZZZZZZZZZtttt this sucks.

damn... thats a huge loss of power. Well I didnt know it was that much, but I know for sure that with the CEL on, its sluggish and I can even get beat by a Civic DX :( Will update as soon as I get my hands on a knock sensor and a good place to relocate

I also notice this is killing the clutch because the engine doesnt know what its doing so it just kinds of guess its way on the chart. Ill post my dyno results and show you guys how it really hurts the car.

just do what I did.

Buy a brand new knock sensor harness from toyota $30.00

you can experiment with that GM sensor which cost somewhere around 30-40 dollars. You can have it screwed into the block or if relocated, have it grounded. IT didnt work for me so ill just have to go buy an oem sensor to play with. Ill keep you all posted

Please do because going from 202whp down to 177whp because of a Check light is a waste of money on mods.

You can see on here what a normal run and a run with a CEL did. 32 WHP Differences and 38 Wtq Differences on my car.

I'd be careful... knocking is a serious issue... How many PSI are you running? i'd back it off beause its obivious that you don't have the fuel upgrades to support that much boost... you could either back it off, or start looking for a new motor

To be honest. Im ONLY running 3.5 psi with Injen intake and catback exhaust. Nothing fancy.
