Don't have a gen2 but I have gen1. The funny part is that I have no ABS or Trackcontrol on my car. Disabled it. It makes for so much fun in the winter. Im also lowered with a teeth jaring stiff suspension. And your worried about that little thing. Heck i tow a snowmobile with my solara in the mountains on snow and ice. Eesh....

Oh yeah, the funny part. I pass everyone going up the mountains with a trailer and snowmobile behind me. What gives...

Last year I drove around in my 18"s with Michelin Pilot Sport 225/45ZR18 Max Perf. Summer tires... No problems (besides anti-lock brakes constantly grinding and not being able to come to a stop for two stop lights) but it wasn't much fun... I bought a set of 15" stealies with wheel covers from Jon's Camry (JMSinMaryland) to use this winter... I plan to get some narrow winter tires with good bite to ride 'em on this time around...

James: I feel your pain brotha' ! I was thinking I'd need to upgrade my horn to warn people that I can't stop. LOL I assume you had the same issues of snow build up in the wheel well? Keep us posted (in this thread) on how your steelies work out.

Any of you in the south remember February / March of 1993? I was living in the Knoxville, TN area with my 300ZX Turbo and we got 21" of snow in a weekend. Completely shut down the city for several day. That one snow plow was working around the clock.

I know this area well. My brother lives in Reno and usually ski Squaw Valley (Near Truckee) or Heavenly. There's some bad butt snow there. (Inches? Nah!! They measure in FEET of snow! ) Nice picture! I would be on the left!

Brian and Mike, I think your problems would be solved if you guys moved to Los Angeles. Our idea of "snow" here is partly cloudly skies with a light chance of morning drizzle...for shizzle.

I'd move there in a heartbeat if it were not for: earthquakes, wildfires, mudslides, rolling blackouts , riots, Michael Jackson , insane housing costs, traffic jams that resemble parking lots after a concert, high taxes, a lack of jobs in the Auto Industry ... ... am I missing anything? Personally, I've purchased property in Death Valley; waiting for the day when the "big one" hits and the coastline slips into the Pacific. Then I will retire selling beachfront condos to foolish people from the snow regions. (Just kidding) I love LA. I usually travel there on business two to three times a year.

You don't understand how much fun snow can be. Go out after a good snow of 5-6 inches, find yourself an empty, unplowed parking lot and have fun. This way you can see just how good your VSC is and really feel it in action, not to mention hand brake spins and reverse doughnuts. There's just something about spinning backwards out of control in fresh snow that can't be beat

What do you mean "empty parking lot?" I end up doing that on the roads. LOL !! I just can't resist a parking lot with no tracks in the snow. By the time I'm done, the lot looks like a spirograph.

..... All of your old people, from every single northern region you can imagine, come down here and torment us EVERY winter. ..... I know snow sucks, but when you couple this with the gruelingly hot summers, and the hurricanes, I'm not so sure you guys up north aren't getting the better end of the deal.

LMAO! I had forgotten about the AARP migration patterns. Winter is the one time of year where I can use the left lane and you can actually get a seat at the local buffet. LOL

I agree with you 200%. I'll take snow over the wave of hurricanes you've had to deal with. I'm already reconsidering my long term plans to retire in Orlando and open a strip joint for the dads who can't take one more day of Disneyworld.

This is the first winter I will be going through with my car lowered, so far no problems, and we have had at least 15" combined so far this season. Yes, I took the 18's off and the stockies are back on. Here are a couple pics from last year for your enjoyment (gotta love lake effect snow)

I feel bad leaving her in the garage though. On the bright side, I'm 3K ahead of the warranty miles
so I'm stocking up for spring road trips and SG meets!
