I know boosting too much is bad. I know boosting too long can cause heat issues. But who uses their SC solara as daily driving and or traveling out of state or cities? Do you let you car rest every hour or so? How many miles do you go at it? Im about to travel out of town and was just wondering. Ill only be at 4 psi.

Ive been boosted since 12/20/03 and have a little over 51,000 boosted miles,91k total. Most mileage was with a 5.5 pulley. It's my daily driver rain sleet or snow. I've never rested for anyhing when traveling except to pee or change a diaper. No, not my own. hahahah.
My longest trips have been up to Deals Gap to run the Dragon. After that I turned around and drove home, about 4 hrs each way. I've also driven to Atlanta and back in the same day about 4 hrs each way. I'm actually getting better gas mileage post SC than before... on the highway. 380-420 miles from a tank of gas with the cruise on 75ish.

Remember you are not in boost all the time.

I use mines as a daily driver, which means I log about 50 miles per day. Plus, I use it to drive from L.A. to Dallas (3,000 miles, 40hours, round trip) every year, sometimes twice a year.

It performs like a champ, and I see no need to worry. The long distances are just steady speeds of 80mph, or higher :), in 5th gear. There is no boost whine or anything special going on in 5th gear so there should be no fear of overheating. I only stop to gas up, then I'm back on the road.

I'm 6psi S/C for the past 3-4 years.

My car logged in about 146,000 miles before the s/c was put on. Now, @ two thousand miles later, Still no problems and going by my ODB2 sensor reader, temps actually go up in stop and go traffic vs. Highway driving. Freeway water temps sit at a nice 179-181*F (which is perfect for stock) and once the car stops or I hit a light, It gets as high as 190-198 depending on outside temps or how hard the car was run prior. I drive about 60miles a day round trip (school&work) no problems. Running 4psi with no EBC.

My car is a daily driver, got boosted in the spring of '04 when I was stationed in Alabama. Drove it to NC. I made a trip up to Vermont which took about 11 hours and had no problems. 6lb pulley went on afterwards and still no problems. Like Ian said, you'll have no problems SC'ing your car and having it as a daily driver.

been driving it since 99, got 110k now. probably 50 of those were boosted. had several problems.

1.) tranny
2.) cel lights (various reason, similar to what most members experience)

this is at 5.5 psi, with minor mods.

the car has been running weak for a few months now, my best guess is compression is low.
