Feels like you are dragging an anchor. Seriously, the car barely accelerates because the timing is so retarded. I could usually get the code to go to history with an ignition cycle, but as soon as I got on it a little, it would become current again.

The CEL would illuminate a few seconds or so after the car went into safe mode though.

The symthems are heavy hesitation to the point where the engine sounds and feels like its going to stall out. It goes into the state of mind where the ECU thinks that the running to lean; therefore, the ECU dials back the timing to match the extra air thats being dumped into the engine. It basiclly doesn't know how much fuel and air to mix. IMO, its quite dangerous to be driving in this condition on the freeway. Also, this harms the Cats (exhaust). Hey guys, correct me if I'm off. :D

"O" yah, Blah, blah, yata, yota... :P

Nope, I had a friend hook up the OBD tool and it's clean!! Got to me something mechanical in the fuel delivery system. That should be easy to isolate.
I'll check the fuel pressure at the rail.
