Stock talk about the Generation 1 and 1.5 Toyota Solara which were produced from 1999 to 2003.

what's the cause of this sound?

what's the cause of this sound?

Postby woa_its_j3ff » Wed Jan 17, 2007 10:41 pm

So here's the deal.. when I drive over any bump, my car makes a clunnk sound, i know that its normal on all cars but on in it seems like i dont know, maybe struts? no clue, but it just takes the ride very harshly as well over potholes, bumps, anything really.

do you know what the cause of it may be? and what I can do to fix this problem?

thanks.

Sounds like a shot mount, they dont really last. Have you replaced the struts recently?
The best thing is to get the car on a lift. Makes sure the strut assembly is tight. Makes sure everything is sittin right. --try to twist the spring, moving control arm, mount. Also check swaybar links.

sorry dude no matter you'll have to pull it out if you want a drop or try to fit it.. to me it sounds just like what i had a clunking sound.. like the rear hat is loose so i thought new suspension will help everything was done right but the clunking came back one side that i didn't tighten all the way so re tightened it and its stopped Great Success "Borat"
