First off, I really do like the Solara, If I didn't own my Celi I'd own a Solara.

Aside from the brown noseing, I wanted some opinions on my interior. I painted the center console a Gloss black. To save you a long read, I'll sum up what happend. Used Primer, it cracked on contact with paint... repainted black... used clear got, paint cracked on contact with clear coat..... Repainted again just useing the Gloss Black spray paint and heres the final. Keep in mind i am very disappionted but still opinions are welcome!

Looks pretty good to me..
Your clear topcoat's solvent system was attacking the bottom color coat. The gloss black paint looks like a very high gloss color. If incompatible solvent systems in the clear coat is being used, then you will get that cracking.

You could try using flat black or maybe low gloss black with a clear coat...and make sure u cleaned the surface thoroughly before painting.

did you try sanding the old paint/finish off first?

primer loves to stick to rough surfaces.

Way to be a nettard andy :)

-- I am going to start over this time, I will probably use Paint thinner to take the paint off, will sand down the surface. I didn't think about the "built in gloss clearcost" on the black paint. However, it was quite cold outside, prehaps thats why the primer cracked?

Oh also, (yep can't find the edit button) Could cold wealther also cause the clear coat to crack the black paint?
