The Interior Project Begins... 1 Completed Pic

Well, i got started on the interior conversion today. I dont have the parts here yet, but I am going to pick them up this saturday. I decided to pull what I could to make room for hauling the interior back home, so I pulled a bunch of the interior

The sound deadening basically fell out... I dont know if toyota's glue is weaker than honda's or what, but I didnt even need dry ice. Only took like a half hour and I saved 15 pounds. The black areas are where the deadening was:

Ill probably get some dye to do that carpet with soon, as well as the headliner since I didnt get those with my swap. They will both be black instead of gray. After the dash is in, Ill put my center gauge pod back in with the new defi gauges. I should have sparco harnesses shortly after and maybe a harness bar, but Im not sure yet. Ill update this thread as I make progress.

This is quite the project. Reminds me of doing a swap in my old honda several years ago. The demo is always quicker than the re-installation. Good luck.

Also, why did you scrap the sound deadening material? Just for weight loss?

yeah just because it was so easy to pull out, it was all peeling up, so I figured Id dump a little weight in the process. It will be a little louder, but meh...

And yes Randy, I got new gray sun visors, so mine will be for sale!

nice project man!
But I also have a white Lara with 2 tones interior and I prefer it over the dark gray interior, more luxuous look for my taste..new cars have 2 tones interior now and I love it.

But it's probably more "tuning look" to be drak leather :)))

nice ride you got!

What do you mean by 2-tone? The gray interior is 2-tone as well, just 2 different shades of gray.

Give me your steering wheel.
where many hate, few will love,
But for those who love,
they'll see what it's like to live.
