well i never exactly said that it was going to be a good addition... long story short, idiot decided to jaywalk across a 4 lane road in morning traffic, another idiot decided to slam on her brakes to let him go while he was still on the other side of the road. meanwhile we just started from a stoplight about 30 feet back, so there wasnt much room between us at all yet. i was in the middle of shifting into second. tried brakes and switchin lanes but there just wasnt enough room... and of course the lady that stopped and caused the accident took off like a bat out of hell..at least the jaywalker admitted to the cop that he was being an idiot.. got an estimate of about 2k to get it fixed and it should be goin in on the first...

Nate

Well i have actually had the car fixed and back for a while now, but i just got around to getting some updated pictures of it after it was repaired, im actually pretty happy with how the bodyshop did and i am a very picky person when it comes to bodywork... now im just going nuts because i cant wax it for a while...well here are a couple updated pics...and yes i know i need to drop it.. cause i know thats about all im gonna hear for feedback from you guys, lol..

More harsh luck with the Solara lately.

It really sucks because you have such a nice car. It's liek getting a black eye ina fight and being liek "naw guys really, this black eye.. it's nothing I'm cool you know, you shoulda seen the other guy", only it's "no no no, this is a sweet ass car, it's not like buying ahonda and driving it around damaged, really it's cool".

Did anything behind the bumper get messed up badly? 2k seems a little high for fixing that it looks liek just anew bumper and corner light.

insurance is going to cover it, and the only reason its 2k is because of labor, the parts only came out to like 600 bucks, the rest is all labor and paint.. id rather get a set of the black housing headlights instead of gettin a new oem headlight, but i doubt my bodyshop would go for that, even though it would probably be more money in their pocket...

OK...It has to be something with the silver paint! Mine is silver too. Glad you are OK, and the damage wasn't too bad.

I'm calling Toyota tomorrow and finding out how much it would cost to paint my whole car, not just the damage, and to a different color!!!!

^^different color...expect to shell out 4-6k. (a ton of extra labor and $ for painting door jams, engine bay, etc.)

Dang the Solara curse hits again. :(
Yeah doesn't look like you will need a new fender, but new bumper and corner housin' and maybe headlight housin'.
Good luck man.

Ouch, that sux.

The bumper looks like it can be popped out but your gonna need a new corner and headlight.....also if you want a new fender and the insurance adjuster didn't take photos of the car yet, rip the bottom piece that hanging off or bent in a kick it in to where its not worth fixing and better off replacing.

Good Luck on the repairs.
