I saw that a few people have done it a while ago but there are no pics on the site. I finally got some. I'll take better pics once they're all done and installed. I got the stuff from the same place Greg got his. Decal Driveway

It doesn't look bad at all. Considering it was $30 it's a pretty cheap mod. I didn't want to get into the whole paint thing again.

Looks sick, Cant wait to see it in the car. I hate the wood grain myself, I wouldnt mind trying that. How did you lay the vinyl on? Just stick and play or is there more to it?

is that a REAL carbon fiber sheet? (2x2 twill pattern; 3D look) or is it just the checkerboard style? (flat look)

It's not hard at all, be careful and take your time I just pried it off on one side then worked my way to the other, it has 5 major plugs in each of the door panels. As far as the 2 pieces in the front those you really have to be careful with. They don't have the flexability as the ones in the door and are very fragile. Take your time with a screw driver or something too. Don't start from the middle of the piece otherwise you'll crack it.

It's pretty much stick and play. It's vinyl so it's not as sticky/ultra adhesive as a sticker ya know. I took some and practiced with it first. My best results were getting the back wet, (like you would with tint) and apply. Pull it tight and work out the air bubbles and you're all set. I just did this piece to see how it turns out. It was dark so I want to wait till sunlight.

It's the checkerboard look, not real carbon fiber. I'm not sure where you can get the other. I know a long time ago Milt said he knew how to get some but I didn't search. I just asked Greg since I liked his from his CarDomain page.

Thanks for the comments.

Wow. Looks good. I think I'm going to do this considering my car is all dark interior with the exception of those pieces which are wood colored. I may do them in black tho, I'm not sure.

If I do go with the CF, can you tell me what size piece you bought? If they have only certain sizes and you had to buy more than you need I'l buy your spare material off you so we can both save some $. But that's just speculation right now.

hehe. I had spare material. It's real cheap to buy. Just buy some sheets on ebay and have some fun! Make sure you get some from a reputable source though. You don't want to go too cheap.

Well, i pried off my "wood" panels today...

I will be painting them silver to match my car, and the silver faced gauges I have on my ride.

The doors did come off easily, but the tabs are melted to create an expansion on the backside, and it is brittle... I will see about modding the door panels, for a permanent fit, like click click... lol :drinking:

Thanx for the info man!, Your CF looks killer!..... I thought about that, but, will do silver to clean up the interior look. :evilbat:

Ill post pix if I can to show what I have done once I paint. :bday:

Any Gen2 guys popping off their plastic? My right side dash trim is creakin' like a mother. Every bump. Need to pull that thing off and put some water-based grease back ther or something.

I'ma definitely do this, since I have extra CF material. Doesn't look to hard, but the only problem I could forsee is that my sheets aren't long enough may have to overlap for that application. Did you have to do this?

It can easily be stretched out with a blow dryer and overlap is hardly noticable if done right
