Cool. I was leaning towards 35% for my Cosmic Blue. Good to see some actual pics of it (since most people seem to go 20% or lower)...

I just have to decide on whether I want the dark or metallic tints...

Not meaning to hijack, but does anyone think the metallic would look good on a Cosmic Blue?

Thanks guys, I'm still wating on the film to dry but the weather here in KC is not helping out. I think it will be well over a month before I can roll down the windows.
Has anybody had any experience with making the film stick to the dot matrix pattern in the rear glass? The guy at the tint shop had to cut the film where the dot matix pattern starts (about 2 inches below the top) it looks OK because the pattern itself darkens that area and you can barely notice it. Is this a normal thing on tinting the gen 2s, or should I have that glass redone?

^you should take it back and have them put on Black Vinyl (some shops call it Black Tape) over those black dots...

they arent supposed to tint over those dots because itll start having little air gaps which will eventually turn into nasty air bubbles, but the black vinyl should do the trick.

though id warn you the black vinyl blocks out the vision... I dont think its too much on blockage on a Gen 2 though... its def not for the Gen 1-1.5

btw, thanks for the hit on CD :D
nice tint! and lovin the blue you got

oh yeah and if the place you did your tint doesnt supply the blk vinyl then try some other places... it might run around $40, but dont pay anything more than that!!

$40 is another ouch on top of what you already paid for i bet

He told me that if I was not happy with it he'd redo it for free. I'll give it a shot, because that rear window bugs me. thanx

Looks good bro. Oceanus Pearl is rare in my area. As for the dot matrix, the tint shopped did a nice job of tinting over the dot matrix. I haven't had any problem w/ mine. There's been a few thread discussion about this. Some recommended the dot matrix to be sanded and then tint over.

Still looks nice any how.

The tint shop that did mine also tinted over the dot matrix. They told me it would have mirror affect in that area, which it does. But its not bad enough that it bothers me. I got mine done just at the end of winter when it was still cold. It took about 3 weeks for the bubbles to go away. Its actually water in the bubbles. the heat will evaporate the water out of the bubbles. I dont understand how this concept works because if the water evaporates it has to go somewhere. But thats what the shop told me so that works for me i guess.

Thanks Guys, I took it back and it looks much better. The guy just re-did the whole rear glass. Like some of you guys mentioned above, part of the problem I was having is due to the water in the film, it needs to be expossed to bright sunlight for a few days for the water to totally evaporate and for the film to "cure".
