New 18"wheels and tires

Postby '00vegas-solara » Sun Nov 20, 2005 8:27 am

I just got my new wheels installed on my Solara this weekend. At first I was a little disappointed as to how much area there was between the fender and the tire, but its starting to grow on me. The next upgrade will have to be the springs/struts combo to lower it a bit. I'm starting to feel the domino effect with this car, one upgrade leads to another. Good thing my wife is understanding. I'm selling the 16" OEM wheels and tires on EBay if anyone's interested. I'll post more info on that in the wanted/4-sale area.Heres a few picutres, let me know what you guys think.

Thanks for the positive feed back. They are Borbet Type CA wheels. I got them from http://www.tirerack.com

I dont know what percent the tint is. Its funny you mentioned the tint because when my wife had the car she always wanted it replace as its starting to purple. Add it to the long list of upgrades. I've only had the Solara for about a month now so I'm still finding things out.

1st: Welcome to the forum!

The pics are lookin good! I haven't seen those rims before. With the vertical lines going to the center, they make the wheels look like 20"ers.

Look forward to more pics.

I agree, with that style those wheels look bigger! I had to double check the size you posted. They look great!

What offset are they? Tirerack is claiming +3mm and that doesnt make sense to me.

Yeah I tought it was strange too. Its just a typo. They are +38mm
I put 225/40/18 Kumho KH11 tires and I have no regrets so far.

I like your rims because they manage to keep a low profile look. I'm getting sick of the deep-dish, chrome lip, 700 spoke, I think I'm a player rims.

sorry if any of you have those. haha.
