Nice. With a little more work or carpeting over the wood it would actually look really sick, and it's very functional for what you were going for.

Props to you on that.

Hey bro, looks pretty good! Definitely saves a lot of space :-) If you want to get a perfect (or nearly perfect) match on it, you may want to consider carpeting it. The materials can be found dirt cheap at your local hardware store (Home Depot for example) and it would be VERY simple to carpet that panel (and it would look great)!

Couple of questions for you:

#1) What kind of power are you running to those subs, and at what volume do you usually play your music? I ask because you are going from a bandpass enclosure to an infinite baffle mount... If you like to crank up the bass and have a high power amplifier you may have some issues, however if you listen to your music at moderate levels and have an amplifier that pushes right around the RMS rating of the subs (or a bit less) you should be fine... Infinite mounts reduce power handling, so just be careful and you'll be alright (and don't crank it with your trunk open)!

#2) What kind of wood did you use (and what width)? From the shots it looks like you used 1/2" thick plywood, but I'm not sure... If so, you may want to step up to 3/4" (and consider using MDF fiberboard, although plywood will be fine and actually weighs about half as much). 1/2" will have a lot of flex (esp on plywood), and it may not support those subs properly (weight wise or pressure wise). If you did use 3/4", just ignore this question (it was hard to tell from the shots)!!

Keep in mind, It won't be nearly as loud as the bandpass, but it will have much better low frequency extention and transient response (ability to perform quick musicle changes), so it should sound pretty good!

So.. most important question:

How does it sound??

Enjoy it bro! :-D

^^^^^
1. i went to home depot to see if they have the carpet and they didnt have any that would match the color... they had a light blue one.. so i passes and just put black vinyl for the time being... ill do this some other time.
2. i used 3/4 and its plywood.. i really wanna reduce the weight of it.. i was gonna use oak... but its too heavy.. i think this should do the job..

I know the bass wont be hittin as much as it used to because of the bandpass and the infinite.. but i dont like to boost the bass up all the way.. even with the bandpass i had it all the way down.... the amp. matches the subs specs.. so im assumin it should be great.. i didnt get a chance to hook up the wires yet cause it got dark and i got tired... so tomorrow ima do that and ill let you know how it sounds... i usually run my music aroun 17, max is 48 and its pretty loud at 17 with pioneer all around and a pioneer head unit
hopefully it will satisfy my needs when it comes to a lil bass.
thanks for your interest and advices

That's very similiar to what I had made. It's an enclosed box filled with foam and covered with carpet to match the trunk.

Man, those have to be some shallow mounting subs to pull that off! Looks good man, and you did it yourself, which is always a plus ;)

Awesome, that's great to hear! I'm glad that everything worked the way you wanted it to (or better actually)! That's phat that you can now save that much trunk space. :-)

Take care,

^^^ one screw is holdin the board.. when i cut it i made sure it was a lil big like a MM ( melimeter) so when i put it in it would be forced by the sides... i just put one screw with a medal corner on the top middle to hold it from moving... i really doubt its gonna fall cause i moved it in with a hammer
